These terms of business give you information about how we offer you services. They are designed to apply from the date you start using our services.
Our commitment:
We are a firm of financial advisers. We can give advice about a range of financial matters including investments, insurance, and mortgages. We will provide the service that we agree with you. We will assess your needs and assess products available in the market before we recommend a product to you. We will not normally give you any more advice about other investments unless we have a separate agreement with you, but we will be pleased to give you further advice if you ask us to. You may have to pay for any more advice you need.
What we expect from you:
To make sure our advice stays appropriate, it is important that you tell us about your financial circumstances and if there are any changes that may affect these (for example, if you have changed your job). If we give you advice and recommendations that you accept and use, we would like to carry out 'follow-up reviews' so we can check your circumstances to make sure our advice is still suitable. It will still be your responsibility to arrange any follow-up reviews with us, unless we agree to give you an ongoing service.
Treating you fairly:
We promise that we will do all of the following, no matter what service we are providing, whether you are an individual, institution or corporation.
1. We will treat you as a retail customer for any investment business we arrange, a customer for mortgage business or as a consumer for any non-investment insurance unless we tell you otherwise. This gives you the highest level of protection.
2. We will check with you what level of service you need and how you can pay us before we start any work.
3. We will offer you the best advice we can to suit your needs, circumstances and budget.
4. We will treat all the information you give us as private and confidential.
5. We will deal with any potential conflicts of interests in our dealings with you (please see the section below).
6. We will confirm our advice and recommendations in writing.
7. We will give you clear information and keep you up to date while we are providing our service to you.
8. We will not try to stop you if you wish to make a complaint.

Who regulates us?
Many financial products and services are regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), but some are not. We might give you advice about regulated or unregulated products. If we recommend a product to you that is not regulated by the FSA, we will give you full information about it before you continue with our recommendation.
We are regulated by the FSA because we have been appointed as a representative of Burns-Anderson Limited. Burns-Anderson Limited is a financial services business that specialises in supporting firms that give advice. It is responsible for the advice and services we provide about any activities regulated by the FSA. You can check Burns-Anderson Limited's details by visiting the FSA's website at www.fsa.gov.uk/register/ or by phoning the FSA on 0845 606 1234. Burns-Anderson's FSA registration number is 126191.
Conflicts of interest:
In our dealings with you it is unlikely we will have a conflict of interest. If we do have a conflict of interest, or a material interest other than receiving commission or fees, or we know that one of our other customers has, we will do everything we can to manage the conflict. If we can't do this, we will write to you with full details before any transaction goes ahead and give you the chance to object to this interest. You may, at any time, ask for more details about our conflicts of interest policy.
Best Execution:
When we place your order with a provider or fund manager, we will try to achieve the best possible result, taking your instructions into consideration. We will usually send applications and cheques to the provider or fund manager within 24 hours of getting them. The provider or fund manager is then responsible for placing your order on the relevant market.
Confidentiality:
We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998.
By receiving these terms of business you agree to the following.
1. We can keep information we have about you on computer or in paper files.
2. We may make any information you give us available to other organisations, such as product providers (for processing your application), credit reference agencies, and our regulator, the Financial Services Authority.
3. We may use the information to contact you if your details match any of the services our companies provide. You can write to us to ask us not to contact you about other services.
Under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to see your personal information that we have on our record. We may make a small charge for supplying you with this information. If you have any questions about this, please write to the Compliance Department at the address above.
You, or your agent, may inspect, during business hours and if you have given us reasonable notice, contract notes, vouchers and entries in our books, whether they are kept manually or electronically, which are to do with your investments only.
We keep records of all our business transactions for at least five years.
Anti-money laundering:
Under UK money-laundering regulations, we must confirm your identity before we enter into business with you. To do this, we may have to do a search of computer-based information. If we do, this would show up on your credit file as an identity check. Or, we may ask you to provide certain documents to confirm your identity. We may keep copies of this evidence on your file and pass it on to product providers if they ask for it.
Your money and investments:
We will not handle your money, apart from cheques which are made out to us or Burns-Anderson Limited to pay money you owe us for our services. All cheques for premiums or investments must be made out to the service providers or insurers. All policies will be registered in your name unless you have written to us and asked us not to do this. If we receive any documents that you should keep, we will send them to you as soon as we can.
Ending an agreement:
Either party can cancel an agreement at any time by giving one month's notice in writing. If the agreement is cancelled, our commitment to you and what we expect from you ends.
