Providing consumer protection


You may not be aware of this, but purchases made on your credit card, such as plane tickets, are protected. This allows you to get your money back if the airline goes bust.

This is a sort of insurance policy that companies like Master Card and Visa provide, but it is not set in law.

However there is something known as ‘section 75’ that is law and can cover purchases made on debit and prepaid cards.
